Legacy architecture of iCE player cards prevented us from opening up this feature for a new white labeling project.
The immediate demands from the product team is to convert the player card modal into a linkable page. The quick solution to open a new window for the player card gave us the time and opportunity to review existing user feedback for this feature.
User Feedback
Player search load time is unacceptably long
Visualizations use an unconventional scale
Visualizations are confusing
Stats tables are hard to read
Proposed solutions
Added a league filter for player searching to drastically reduce load time (backend resources were not available for this project)
Add the existing watchlist feature to the player search to avoid hefty load times and quicker access to players of interest
Unified the pages visualization and scale to match the principles of the new Table Design System
Created visual hierarchy in visualizations to improve user experience
Updated the nav to include a new Player Card section that will allow users to search for players as well as act as the page where users can view the player cards
